The
songs of this ep were recorded in 1985 but remained unreleased until The
Happy Couple got a tape with these undiscovered pearls in its fingers. That
was in 2002.
The Catalysts were a short-lived project of Ulric Kennedy and Dannie Vallely from Glasgow. Ulric, previously singer of The Mixers (who appear on the legendary "All For Art And Art For All" compilation at Dan Treacy's Whaam! Records label) would later join The Golden Dawn to release two fine singles for Sarah Records. Ulric and Dannie are still making music as The Void and DHK (Invicta Hifi Records). In June 2004, they recorded and produced the new Happy Couple ep.
